Privacy policy

Who are we?

My name is Elke Nuytemans, proprietor of the Glossa website and director of the translation bureau with the same name, based at Krommelei 1, 2110 Wijnegem (Belgium). I do everything in my power to maintain the confidence of both visitors to my website and my clients. This privacy policy describes why and how I collect personal data, which personal data I collect, what they are used for and how these data are secured.

The processing of your personal data

I do not use your personal data for marketing purposes. I do not communicate your personal data to third countries.

I exclusively process the following data:

·                your name and/or your company’s name

·                your address and/or your company’s address

·                your email address and/or your company’s email address

·                your bank account number and/or your company’s bank account number

·                your company’s VAT number

 

Legal basis for the processing of your personal data

I need your personal data to execute a contract between us, to meet a statutory obligation or to promote a legitimate interest. For instance:
– As invoicing is a legal requirement, I am obliged to store your invoices.
– I need to store your e-mail address, and possibly your telephone number, to allow me to execute the contracts between us.
– I may need to store translated documents for business management purposes.

I store your data on my computer and on two backup disks for the duration of our business relationship but, as a minimum, for as long as I am legally obliged to do so. When you inform me that you no longer wish to avail of my services, I shall destroy your data on request, unless prohibited by law or in cases where I need your personal data in the context of legal proceedings.

All your data are adequately protected by means of a firewall and commercial anti-virus software. On no account are your data disclosed to third parties, with the exception of public authorities in the eventuality I am legally obliged to do so.

 

Your right of access to your personal data

You have the right to access the personal data relating to you I have in my possession, to have those data rectified or erased. I undertake to act on any requests submitted by email without undue delay and at the latest one month of the date at which you transmitted your request.

The Glossa website may contain links to other websites. Glossa cannot be held accountable for the way the owners of those websites deal with your data. Please make sure to read the privacy policies of the websites you visit.

 

Data breaches

In the event of a data breach, I undertake to take the appropriate action within 72 hours, as required under the GDPR.
